I am thankful for……..

I know I am a week late, Thanksgiving was last week. But I really needed to take this opportunity to make a list of things I am thankful for! This week I am thankful for Uncle Nicky!

You know face-time is a beautiful thing. It helps you get to see family you don’t see everyday, see their expressions when you tell them a story and just feel good about seeing a loved one face to face!

Let’s talk about Thanksgiving 2012. My Dad calls me in the AM and says “Michelle don’t forget your iPad, we want to talk to Uncle Nicky in Florida today” So I take my trusty iPad and right after dinner we connect with Uncle Nicky!

Now I like to tell Uncle Nicky he is my favorite Uncle! This is pretty accurate since we have good jokes and we are a pretty tight family. So this year Uncle Nicky and Auntie Robin had Auntie Mena and Uncle Paul over for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We are all sitting around the table talking to everyone.

We started talking about facebook and did you see and that, and then my blog comes up. I say Uncle Nicky have you been reading my blog and he says yes its great. I am so excited I have a follower in Florida! My brother being the true salesman he is, says ask Uncle Nicky what is his favorite post? Boom Uncle Nicky is caught, his facial expression is priceless he says I don’t know they are all so good. Uncle Paul pipes in and says I really like the one where you lost your hair towel and groped in Gaeta! Well turns out I do have a reader in Florida, but it was not Uncle Nicky, it was was Uncle Paul.

Moral of the story is: While Uncle Nicky is my favorite Uncle (and I guess he still is), you can’t bullshit a bullshit artist! Thanks to my brother for helping me crack that case! And thanks to Uncle Paul for reading my blog!

Are you ready for some Football………

Every year I like to attend a Patriots football game at Gillette Stadium. We get a nice group of people and make a day out of the event. Breakfast, lunch and dinner! This year the game that I got tickets to was Pats for Bills. The game was a pretty close game came down to the last 17 seconds, however that is really not where the story gets good.

Every year when I attend the game I like to get tickets for my Dad. My Dad loves to tailgate and this year he had a friend who was also at the game and tailgating one row over from us. I was at the Pro Shop with some friends and my Dad called me and asked me to stop by and say hello to his friends. On my way back from the Pro Shop I dropped in and said my hellos. So my Dad gets a phone call and I tell him we are going to head back to our tailgate and I think that he is staying behind to chat with his friends.

So we head back to our tail gate with my friends. Me meet some men heading back to the car and they want to chat us up, so we chatted or heckled shall I say. And I answer them back and I was flirting it up and I turn around and look at my friend because of course I think I am so funny. When I turn around I see dear old Dad walking with us, when I thought he was at his friends. The look on his face was priceless as he watched “his princess” pick up guys! When I turned around I was like oh hey Dad I did not realize you were with us.

Moral of the story here I think is pretty obvious – maybe you should not try to pick up guys while in the presence of you Dad!

Every year at Halloween my work does a Halloween contest for the adults. Last year I participated as a group, Three Blind Mice. Costume was good but every year you have to up your anty. Most of the times the things I come up with I don’t come up with to win a prize but mostly for a good laugh.

This year at first I was too busy and was not going to participate. But last minute came up with what I thought was a great idea! As most of you know my “great ideas” are never really a good idea. So I wanted to combine my favorite Holiday with Halloween and have some Holiday Spirit. I asked a friend at work if he would assist me with my great idea and at first he was all in, then he thought it might not be PC so he decided against it. I racked my brain thinking who can assist me with my “great idea” so I asked my friend Bizzle to help me come up with a male that could help me with my “great idea”, she took on the challenge and really embraced¬† it. We found a male to participate and after all Bizzle’s hard work we incorporated her into the theme as well.¬†

So what was the costume you ask? Well since my favorite holiday is Christmas, I thought the nativity should play a role in my costume. So the costume was Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus.

Based on this photo the moral of this story is: You can really make a great Halloween costume for about $22 for 3 people. Please note that the Baby Jesus is sitting on a bed of moss! All those years of catholic school really helped with this one!
